Last week, the playing members of Gilwern Bowls Club were delighted to welcome a very special guest, Ross Owen, a highly accomplished Welsh International bowler.
Ross shared insights into his impressive career and led an engaging coaching session, demonstrating a range of valuable training drills and techniques suitable for bowlers of all ages and abilities. His enthusiasm for the sport was evident throughout, and participants greatly appreciated the opportunity to learn from one of Wales’ leading players.
Despite the challenging weather conditions, Ross made every effort to spend time with everyone on the green, ensuring that each participant understood the drills and gained the maximum benefit from the session. His approachable manner, patience, and willingness to share his knowledge helped create a memorable and enjoyable experience for all involved.
Gilwern Bowls Club would like to extend its sincere thanks to Ross for his enthusiasm, patience, and exceptional coaching skills. We are extremely grateful for the time he spent with us and for the positive impact he made on our members.
We wish Ross every success in the future and the very best of luck in his upcoming international singles and pairs competitions, taking place from 23 July to 2 August. The entire club will be cheering him on and looking forward to following his progress.
