The East Monmouthshire 2025 BA Finals have been a long time coming, but we’re delighted to announce that we’ve had some success.
Despite trailing by nine at one point in the Singles Final against Chepstow’s Gary Horder, Mark Wells turned things around to claim the win by 21 shots to 15 – a well earned victory that earned him a huge trophy that’ll now sit in our clubhouse.
While Mark’s victory was the only of the day for Gilwern, we were delighted by the performances of others during the course of the day.
In the Senior Singles, Mike Axford put in a good shift drawing level with his opponent for most of the game, before a switch in tactics saw his opponent eventually take the game 21-12.
Brian Hughes and Sandra Cross took an early lead in the Mixed Pairs Final against Caldicot but eventually lost 21-9.
It was a good showing for Gilwern overall and hopefully we can replicate that success next time around.
